A Message from our CEO

Since co-founding the company in 2004, I’ve been lucky enough to lead multiple iterations of the Ozark offering. Throughout the years, we’ve thrown many ideas at the wall to see what sticks. And while it took some time, I eventually came to a conclusion that many other business owners have come to before me: When you focus your efforts on your real strengths and the organizations who share your vision, everything suddenly falls into place.

These are the three key realizations that shaped today’s Ozark Technology:

1) We Don’t Want Customers, We Want Partners

Josh Kemp, Co-Founder & CEO

I’m a big believer in the power of words. In Ozark Technology 1.0, we had customers, and we did just about everything for just about anyone. In our 2.0 iteration, we only have partners, and we focus on what we really do well. Making the transition from a commodity service to a trusted advisor has allowed us to become a proactive company focused on helping our partners leverage technology to further their business goals. To cite the Merriam Webster Dictionary:

  • A customer is one that purchases a commodity or service.

  • A partner is a person who shares or is associated with another in some action or endeavor.

As partners, we not only do everything necessary to protect your systems and prevent issues, we also help guide you translate your goals and vision into a strategic technology direction.

2) You can’t successfully operate two types of ‘factory’ at once

We spent a LOT of time trying to come up with a hybrid solution that would allow us to service accounts of different sizes, philosophies, budgets, etc., and came to the conclusion that we could not deliver real value without specializing. We tried separate teams, separate offices, etc. Ultimately, the model we employ today delivers the best possible results for our partners and the highest morale for our team.

3) Not every company views IT as a strategic investment in their business

We have a service philosophy that simply is not a fit for everyone, and that’s okay. Different companies have different technology needs, and we can’t do what we do best if we’re trying to cater to all of them. This realization helped me understand more clearly how important it is to focus on partners whose philosophy and needs are a real fit for us. At the end of the day, that’s how we create long-term partnerships and deliver true value.

These realizations are at the heart of how we run our business and are enshrined in our Mission & Vision Statement.

The Mission and Vision of Ozark Technology is:

  1. To build relationships, add value, solve challenges and make people smile when they think about IT

  2. To change the face of IT across the nation and

  3. To provide secure solutions, services and process to increase the long-term value and profitability of our partners

If you share similar values, we’d love to learn more about your business and show you how we can help you achieve your goals.
